[地雷]Sushi Yasuda

原本這篇已經不打算寫了, 但是因為花了四百塊踩到地雷還是把照片隨便post一下.

要抱怨的第一件事是用餐時間限制在一個半小時之內, 不知道是因為我們去的那天人比較多還是他們一向的規定, 總之在用餐時間結束前(雖然我們已經吃完付帳了)要求我們離開, 這點以日本人開的"傳統"日本店來說讓人很受不了.

另外要抱怨的是Sake只有用carefe來賣沒有賣整瓶的(這對喝慣720ml的我們來說很不習慣). 然後只有問客人要不要多叫酒的時候服務特別殷勤(其他時候都很點點點...)

抱怨完了, 現在來看圖說故事吧.

按照習慣, 第一次去的餐廳我們通常都會點Omakase (tasting menu).

這是整餐最噁的東西, 據說是某種squid的gut.

A tribute to Colton Dixon

(Colton Dixon.  Love The Way You Die)

I am in complete shock that Colton was voted off American Idol tonight.

He is definitely one of my favorites on the show.
He has a nice look, a beautiful voice, a really delicate approach to music,
but what makes it truly special...is the vulnerability that just comes out of his voice.

He is a true artist and a whole package as a singer.

I can't believe he is simply voted off because of just one not so great performance.
And what I can't believe more is his choice of his last song tonight, "Everything" by Lifehouse.

It's an interesting choice to pick a gospel song as his last performance on the stage.  The choice definitely came from the bottom of his heart.

And I was really, really touched.

(I can't find the final performance online so I found the one he performed on Top 9)


It's not a goodbye, because I know we will see him again.  And he will go very far.
With his voice and his talent, he will go very far.

See you Colton.  We will see you again very soon.

五月的 San Francisco (旅館篇)

從去年就說要寫這篇文...結果拖拖拖也就忘記了. 趁著今天San Fran時訂的wine club送這季的酒來, 很快的記錄一下.

San Fran 是個很乾淨漂亮的城市, 而且因為市區並不大, 可以步行去各個景點.

街道很乾淨整潔.

也有個挺大的中國城.

這天晚上我們去日本街用餐.

這家是yelp上最推薦的日本餐, 點tasting menu但我們倆都覺得只有還好.
而且並不便宜. (印象中好像跟Jewel Bako差不多價錢)

吃完有點小小失望.  =(

第二天我們請了driver帶我們去幾個我選擇的酒莊品酒.
我和E都不是wine snob, 所以我們在選擇上比較注重在wine tasting而不是酒莊的有名程度.

去wine tasting如果經濟上允許的話我真的很建議雇一天的司機, 這樣才能喝得開心也不用擔心酒駕的罰單. 花點時間找網路上有些挺實惠的選擇, 不然也可以參加semi-private的wine tour.

沒有開很久就到Napa了.

第一個造訪的酒莊Domaine Carneros有提供很多tasting的選擇.

我們只有喜歡他家的champagne.  建築物是按法國的酒莊建造，非常氣派！

第二家酒莊是Joseph Phelps，是家很有名的酒莊。酒莊環境很美，酒很貴（中等以上要200美金＋），review也好但酒真的很難喝所以就在此不提了。:( 我們那天可是喝了5，6種酒沒有一杯可以下肚 =(((

(雖然E和我不是wine snob, 但E的爸爸算是酒的收藏家，有幾萬瓶酒的收藏,所以我們喝過的好酒還算不少,也小小挑剔)

酒莊3也是最後一家是 Signorello Winery. 我們特別選了這家因為可以吃午餐！這家有專門的廚師, 為品酒設計午餐的 tasting menu.  Tasting menu 要事先預定,其他的食物則沒有這麼多規定. :)

還有很漂亮的infinity pool.  很多人在這外面吃午餐。

今天的lunch tasting只有我們兩人和winery的coordinator (好幸運!)

還有美國和牛等其他的餐點可是我忘記照了。
都很美味!

晚上去吃某米其林一星餐館.
忘記名字了因為很不好吃.
不管有沒有星, 這次旅行的晚餐都不大好吃.
早知道就splurge去吃French Laundry.
(然後如果花很多錢還不好吃會更生氣!=p)

最後一天我們倆人自己租車出去玩!

先去Muir Woods. 紅木公園～
非常漂亮的一個公園, 即使像E這樣不愛戶外活動的人也走得很開心!

之後開好遠的車去Sonoma Valley吃午飯.是在山坡上的一個餐館/旅館hotel/restaurant, hotel旅館本身是small luxury boutique hotel的會員(這個hotel group裡的hotel通常有一定的水準).

開到的時候已經下午兩點我們都快餓死了. 還好很好吃很值得! 這家米其林一星而且真的物有所值。 跟Napa比起來我們都比較喜歡Sonoma, 比較不那麼商業化commercialized.

坐在外面可以看到山腳下的風景.

兩個人吃得好撐好撐....

今天租的車dodge challenger, an all American muscle car. E好喜歡~~~~
(不知道為什麼會喜歡橘色的車阿, 為什麼為什麼呢???)

晚餐一樣去吃另一家米其林一星但也不是很好吃的steakhouse. (Blvd)

小失望.....雖然很多blogger說很好吃。
不知道是不是我們太挑剔。不過味覺這種東西本來就很主觀。

Overall this was a really nice trip.
如果有機會下次再去的話(想去的話機會應該很多吧), 我們應該會跳過Napa Valley只去Sonoma的酒莊.  然後我會花更多時間研究到底該去哪裡吃. XD
